About this Trek

On this out-and-back walk, you'll explore creative ways to connect with nature that thrives in difficult conditions, growing your own sense of strength and resilience with every step.

In an industrial part of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, a creekside path comes alive with plants, shore critters, and songbirds. This flat 1-mile Trek prompts walkers to discover the urban nature that perseveres in a seemingly inhospitable area along Newtown Creek. The landscape will leave you feeling inspired to tap into your own inner resourcefulness.

The entrance to the Newtown Creek Nature Walk is a ~20 minute walk from the nearest subway (the G train), but you can easily make a day of exploring Greenpoint's charming shops, restaurants, and waterfront paths.

The Trek ends with a reflection prompt, so feel free to bring a pen and paper with you if you'd like to journal.
